Wat Suthat Thepphawararam

Wat Suthat Thepphawararam is a royal temple of the first grade (one of six in Thailand) and located in the heart of Bangkok. It features amazing drawings on the walls of the main temple, as well as a giant golden Buddha. If you want to visit Wat Suthat, it is a good idea to go along Thanon Bamrung Muang first and visit the Shops for religious supplies there. Then, near sunset, go to Wat Suthat, enjoy the beautiful temple in the setting sunlight and see Buddhist pray. Don´t forget to walk all around the main Buddha sculpture to see the amazing drawings in the back.

Bangkok Market

If you leave Wat Pho via Thanon Chetuphon and follow Thanon Maha Rat south-east you will pass a little bridge and come to a large market for food and flowers (see map). I visit this market every time i come to Bangkok. It kind of became a tradition for me. This market is rarely visited by tourists and gives you the perfect opportunity to meet Thai people and watch them do their work. Observe how every marketplace has a little shrine in the back that is constantly lit and usually has some fresh flower offerings for good luck.
